winter 2020

What a year! We first want to thank all of you for helping us finish off the year on a high note. This year was filled with tremendous loss, grief, and stress, among other things, and we are very grateful we got to be a part of building a community that fosters such kindness, support, and individuality. We weren’t sure about the fate of our business back in March, but we’ve been able to get a lot accomplished despite the new onslaught of challenges. We have a lot to look forward to in 2021 at wool&. Here’s a peak into some of those things.

More leggings!

Our Swift Legging was a big hit, so we’re making more. Hint: they will be a midweight, warm legging (noticeably heavier) that is both opaque, and comes in a full-length or cropped length. We’re also making leggings for kids, easily paired with our Little Rowena. See a sneak peak of the leggings down below.

Traceability Story

We’re going to be launching a traceability story this spring—where you can learn more in-depth about our factory to farm supply chain. Meet the sheep who made your dresses. Stay posted.

We’re hiring!

It’s sometimes hard to tell from the customer side of things, but we’re a very small company still. We’re made up of five full-time employees and a few part-time and freelance employees. Our small operation is getting bigger with every day though, and we need more support! Check out our job listings here. All applications should be sent to careers@wooland.com.

Sizing Updates

In under two years, we were able to accomplish adding Plus Sizing and long lengths to our line. This came with continuous research, feedback from you, hiring wear testers, and hiring the right person to be the expert on this new, specialized offering. We already are or will be offering Plus sizing in the following items in 2021: the Rowena Swing Dress, Ellie Midi Wrap Dress, Willow Swing Dress, Fiona Fit and Flare Dress, Sierra Tank Dress, Swift Legging, Cora Shift Dress, Maggie Swing Dress, Camellia Tank Dress, and Summer Midi Dress.

We realize that there’s demand for other sizes, including petite sizes, and we’re listening! As our business continues to grow, there will undoubtedly be more sizing opportunities. We normally post sizing updates on our Instagram, so please follow us at @wool.and.

Sneak Peak!

Guide to taking mirror selfies

We love to see your photos posted on the #100daydresschallenge Instagram tag. Sometimes these photos turn into ads, press stories, or are posted on our social media. Here are some tips on taking an outfit selfie that may make it to one of our platforms. Not your thing? That’s okay too.

  1. Placing your mirror next to a window for the best natural light is ideal.

  2. Hang your mirror at a natural height for you, so you see the entirety of the outfit.

  3. Don’t zoom in, that will lower the quality of your photo.

  4. If you tap and hold the screen on an iPhone, you can adjust the brightness. But sometimes it switches back to the old brightness when you try to take your picture. Here’s what you can do: Simply tap and hold a darker part of the screen to lock the brightness setting.

  5. If you can, use a tripod, camera stand, or have someone take your photo for the best results.

We need your input!

We’ve created a 2021 survey and would love it if you would take a couple of minutes to complete it. The data from the surveys directly impact future designs, so you definitely have a voice here.

Thanks everyone, and hope you’re having a bright start to the new year.

Sincerely,

—the wool& team
