Our Launch Process

Learn more about our “slow fashion” values

Compared to some of the big fashion retailers, we have a unique model for our slow fashion approach. It may be different than what you’re used to when shopping on other e-commerce sites.

We wanted to break down the “why” behind our launch process, in an effort to demystify any confusion behind why we do things the way we do. We will be taking you through our entire process.

Design Studio

We have Design Studio to give our customers a larger voice in our development process and how we decide what we’re making next. Similar to many crowdsourcing fashion sites, our intention is similar here. It’s pretty simple: You cast your “vote,” then we take that data and decide which item gets to be made next. Some products don’t make it past the Design Studio stage because they didn’t get enough “votes,” or engagement. One way for customers to engage in Design Studio is by commenting and/or asking questions in our Q&A section.

Coming Soon

In this stage we’re giving our customers full transparency on what items we are releasing soon. Customers can engage with products by selecting their size and then be notified via email when the item is available, as well as commenting and/or asking questions in our Q&A section. It’s also a way for customers to plan their future purchases.

Make Available For Preorder

We implemented our preorder system for a couple of reasons. By ordering a preorder item, you’re also helping us invest in future styles. We have big plans to have better inventory availability and expand our line in the near future. Also, we want you to be informed about what’s coming next, in case you’re planning to make a purchase soon. We have outlined this process in our FAQ. Please note that preorders are not “made to order” based on the number of preorders we receive, but rather we place an order for a specific number, then open preorders based on how many units we’ve ordered.

“Preorder to Save”

Our “preorder to save” collection contains select items that have a special 10% discount. By purchasing items before they enter production or while they’re being produced, you’re helping fund the production process and helping us gauge demand. Please note that dresses from this collection are eligible for both the 30 and 100 day dress challenges.

Ship Preorders

Every preorder has a "ship by" date. This gives the customer information on when their preorder is expected to leave our warehouse. Sometimes we receive preorder items early and we ship them as we receive them. If there are any delays, we send out an email that includes information on the new ship by date and if the delay is 2+ weeks, we send some courtesy credit for the inconvenience. Preorders are a great way for customers to get first dibs on items that they really want, since the purchase has been made prior to the items officially launching.

Sell Remaining Inventory

Items are removed from preorder and ship within our normal shipping times. Information on our shipping process can be found in our FAQ.

Our Slow Fashion Stance

We’re a small, bootstrapped team (including our factory partners) who are growing rapidly. We’re buying inventory at a pace that we feel makes sense for this stage in our business. Our entire launch process is built around the idea of customers being able to plan out their purchases in the most mindful way, without the pressure to buy or “scarcity marketing.”
