Diversity & Inclusion

Read about our efforts in building a thoughtful, diverse, equitable, and inclusive brand.

We believe in equal rights for all and maintaining a company culture that supports this belief. wool& has zero tolerance for any bigotry, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and any other prejudices that go against the basic human right to feel safe, valued and respected. We hope that our company can make an impact in leaving the world a better place.

Each area below outlines what we’re doing to create a values-oriented culture. We’re committed to continually adding to this evolving list:

1. Creating an inclusive company culture

All of our team members have a voice. We believe that all employees and contractors contribute to our work culture and play a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of the company. We strive to promote a safe space and work environment in the following areas:

  • Our office and warehouse

  • Our digital workspace, where we communicate with our full team including remote team members

  • Every photoshoot (including models, photographer, and support staff)

  • Social media pages

  • Our private Facebook Group

    • Our Facebook group is made up of our customers that have a diverse set of backgrounds and values. Our goal is to welcome all, find value in our commonality, and learn from and respect our differences. All are welcome. Kindness and tolerance are required.

2. Representation

Every day we work toward meeting our goals with diversity and inclusion in regards to representation. Here are a few ways that we accomplish this:

  • We partner with people and organizations that align with our brand mission and values (for example: bloggers, influencers, affiliates, and other brands).

  • Our website models are chosen to be diverse in size, age, and race. We will continue to seek out additional ways to represent diversity on our website.

  • We are proud to be a company that represents a variety of ages:

    • Team members (between ages 20s-60s)

    • Private Facebook page volunteer moderators (between ages 20s-60s)

    • Website models (between age 3-60s)

    • Fit models (between ages 6 months-60s)

3. Sizing inclusivity

  • We have come a long way since we first launched wool& in 2018 with just the Rowena Swing Dress. We initially launched in sizes up to XL but now offer select styles up to size 3X.

  • We have invested in two base size mannequins (M and 2X), which help us provide consistent fit throughout all of our styles in addition to fitting on live fit models and wear testers of various ages, sizes, and shapes.

  • Length options now include regular and long length, with increased “midi” options as another option for various heights.

  • Our Design and Development team is committed to expanding our size offerings at a pace that our team can thoughtfully support.

  • We track sizing and product requests to monitor what our customers are looking for. We want to ensure our products and sizes match demand, to minimize waste.

4. Accessibility

  • We include alt-text in every marketing email.

  • We make sure in-person events are accessible to all people with disabilities, and we make a concerted effort to accommodate accessibility requests.

  • We are receptive and open to listening to ways that we can improve our accessibility to individuals, and will make changes as necessary.

5. Continuous growth

We acknowledge that we are a company that is made up of humans (and some very generous sheep), and therefore will naturally make mistakes. However, we strive to hold one another accountable for doing better and constantly be open to learning.
